PlayStation 2

The Sony PlayStation 2 has the most games available for it because it has been out the longest of the 3 Next-Gen consoles and can also play the original PlayStation games. It can also play DVDs and CDs but has worser graphics than GameCube and Xbox (but not by that much). Its an enjoyable system that all gamers should own (if you can afford it, some gamers are left to choose just one...ouch. It that case, look up info on all three and pick the one that best suits you).

The PS2 can go up to 2 players and is quicker than that slow PS you've been playing for years now. Games for all ages are available although the majority is for teens and adults.

The PS2 currently sells for $179.95 (U.S.) brand new.
Games usually debut at $49.95 (U.S) and drop over time.
Greatest Hits games are popular games that debuted about a year before they became "Greatest Hits". They sell for a cheap $19.95 or less brand new.

And of course buying games and hardware used (or "pre-owned") is cheaper than buying them brand new (a hint for the low-budget gamer).
